Major General Brian Nissen
Major General Brian Nissen, joined the army in 1989 as a conscript and was commissioned as an officer in 1994. He has served on multiple national and international command levels. He is an experienced, skilled and highly respected army officer. His leadership philosophy is based on a mission command approach, trusting subordinates ability and ingenuity to succeed. Major General Brian Nissen was born in 1970. He is married to Sofie. He has 5 children in the age from 2 to 24.
Major General Brian Nissen is currently serving as Deputy Commander Multinational Corps Northeast. His experience from NATO command- and force structure is an asset to the Corps and NATO Senior leadership as a whole. His most recent command was as brigade commander, and General Inspector of manuever forces. Major General Brian Nissen operational experience includes NATO missions from the Balkans to Afghanistan, and most recently responsibility for training in support of Ukrainian armed forces. He has prior NATO experience from J5/Joint Force Command North, G5/Headquarters Multinational Division North and HQ SACT. Furthermore, his military career includes assignments within the Army on all levels, as well as at the national strategic level.
Major General Brian Nissen graduated from the Danish Army Officers Academy in 1994. Following his commission, he participated in various field grade officer education and training events. He is a graduate of the Royal Danish Defence Academy; Army General Staff Course and Joint Staff Officer Course. In 2017, he graduated with distinction from the US Army War College obtaining a Master in Strategic Studies. Most recently, he graduated the NATO Defense College Senior Course in 2019.
Major General Brian Nissen exceeds in the field of Military Operations and force development. His experience and expertise includes operational planning and execution and command of maneuver formations and units. Furthermore, he excels on the operational and strategic level.
