In 1999 Szczecin became a city garrison for Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast – a symbol of a new era in military multinational cooperation and most eastward located NATO Headquarters.

Baltic Barracks in Szczecin, the location of Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast, is not just a working place. Personnel coming from 24 nations create a unique environment in which everyone supports each other and learns from each other. Understanding cultures of various countries is a key issue in a daily life and goes far beyond getting work done. It is about making friendship and spending time together, like for example during social events which have become a part of the Headquarters’ annual calendar for good.

Concepts of integration are not just limited to Baltic Barracks. Maintaining supportive and kind relations with the municipal and regional authorities, other uniformed services and clergy have always been of vital importance for the Corps’ members. A natural way to express concern for matters important to the Polish nation is active involvement in municipal, regional and state celebrations. MNC NE members are also supportive of various charity actions.
