We are entering the fourth stage of lifting COVID-19 restrictions. Starting from 30 MAY, we will not have to cover our noses and mouths when outdoors - under the condition that we can keep a 2-metre distance from each other. Face masks will be required in some closed public spaces such as shops, churches, buses, trams etc. Additionally - we are opening cinemas, theatres, gyms and massage parlours, but they will have to follow strict sanitary guidelines. We allow wedding receptions with up to 150 participants. Although we are lifting a number of restrictions, one rule will remain in place. We will have to remain cautious when meeting other people.
It is possible to lift COVID-19 restrictions because the number of infections is decreasing in most voivodships. We are constantly observing the epidemic and monitoring the capacity of our healthcare system - especially the number of available hospital beds and ventilators. Based on that, we are taking responsible decisions. What are the new safety rules?
OUTDOORS: SOCIAL DISTANCING OR FACE MASKS (after 30 MAY)
If you are able to keep a 2-metre distance from other people when outdoors, you do not have to cover your nose and mouth. You can take a walk, ride your bike, walk in the street, a park, on a beach and car park without a face mask - but only when you observe social distancing.
Warning! If you can't keep a 2-metre distance from other people when you're outdoors - for example, on a crowded pavement - you have to cover your nose and mouth. It is about our safety.
Please remember! The following people will not be obliged to maintain 2-metre social distancing: parents with children requiring supervision (younger than 13 years of age), persons residing together, handicapped persons or persons who cover their nose and mouth.
You have to cover your nose and mouth in the following places!
There are places where you are obliged to cover your nose and mouth:
- buses and trams,
- cinemas and theatres,
- massage and tattoo parlours,
- government offices (if you're there to do official business).
Other places with the obligation to cover the nose and mouth will be specified by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.
Exceptions. Where is it not obligatory to cover the nose and mouth?
- At work - if the employer ensures that workplaces are spaced apart appropriately and sanitary requirements are met.
- In a restaurant or a bar - if you are sitting at the table.
WE ARE LIFTING RESTRICTIONS ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE - IN SHOPS, MARKETS, POST OFFICES AND RESTAURANTS (starting on 30 MAY)
There will no longer be a limit on the number of people in shops and catering businesses. So far the number of people allowed into shops, restaurants, markets or post offices has been determined based on the area or number of work stations. These rules will no longer be in force from 30 MAY.
Warning! Tables in restaurants, eateries and food courts still have to be spaced apart appropriately. Clients must wear face masks before they sit at the table. All sanitary rules are still in force - hand and table disinfection etc.
Important! Please remember that in shops, post offices or markets, you are still required to cover your nose and mouth. In shops it is necessary to disinfect hands or wear gloves.
