NATO Force Integration Units

Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast is responsible for the security on the north-eastern flank of NATO. This vast area with over 44 million inhabitants stretches from Estonia to Poland, encompassing also Latvia and Lithuania. In each of these four countries, our daily tasks are supported by the NATO Force Integration Units. They carry the important task of being in place and give us a direct insight into the region. If ever boots need to be put on the ground, they will facilitate the rapid deployment of Allied forces to the area. This is a huge contribution to our Headquarters’ rapid reaction capabilities.

If sovereignty of any Ally is violated, they will support collective defence planning, provide expertise and prepare the ground for the deployment of Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF). Therefore, they are a visible proof of NATO’s continuous presence in all six Allied nations.
