In Full Gear

With an official presentation of “Saber Stike 2017” logo, the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) has gotten in full gear with this vital exercise. It is no exaggeration to say that “Saber Strike 2017” (SASE17) is the most important challenge in the Corps’ eighteen-year history. Upon successful finalisation of all necessary proceedings, the Corps will get certified as a High Readiness Force Headquarters in June 2017.

We have to stay loyal to our main goal. So pay attention and be engaged!

- said Brigadier General Per Orluff Knudsen, the Corps’ Chief of Staff, when addressing our military personnel on Wednesday, 11 January.
Understandably, such a challenge requires a long-term commitment as well as a great deal of coordination at many levels, from operational to logistical. Therefore, in the first quarter of 2017, HQ MNC NE will conduct the Crisis Response Planning (CRP) with the substantial involvement of higher headquarters (specifically Multinational Joint Headquarters Ulm), subordinate formations, NATO Force Integration units and Host Nations.
With the presentation of "Saber Strike 2017"-Logo the Corps has gotten in full gear with that vital exercise and ready to get certified.
By setting the scene, you gain more knowledge and deeper understanding of our region. – pointed out General Knudsen – This way, we’ll all be better prepared to take on responsibility of being regional custodians.

The plans developed by the end of March will be implemented and put in full effect as the exercise enters its final phase in June this year. Once this major milestone is reached, HQ MNC NE will stand ready for an immediate response if ever there is an external threat posed against the nations of North-eastern Europe.
