This opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations included productive meetings with the Corps' flag officers and experts. It was a chance for leadership from both organisations to commit to continue working to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual importance, such as security, professional military education and situational awareness in the Baltic region.

Our institutions are responsible for developing a regional approach on defence issues in the Baltic Sea area.
Both General Hofmann and General Dilāns reaffirmed their interest in sharing of expertise and exchange of subject matter experts. General Dilāns also emphasized the role of exercises in boosting security environment. The visit demonstrated an understanding that collaboration among international partners is crucial to strengthen peace and project stability on the northeastern flank of NATO.
