And the Winner Is...

Soldiers from the Corps took part in this year’s Triathlon competition in Szczecin with great results: a first, a second and a third place for MNC NE! The secret of such a success is team spirit.

In total, 17 soldiers from MNC NE were participating in the Triathlon event in Szczecin on 21 July. Single starters as well as relay teams went for the 1/4 distance of an Ironman – 950 metres swimming, 45 kilometres cycling and 10.55 kilometres running. Major Vytas Vasilevicius finished as the winner of the race with a best time of 02:02:08. The relay team with Sgt Fabian Wolinski, WO Szymon Górniak and WO Tomasz Borowski made second place. “But the results are not as important as the team spirit – together we fight”, LTC Neufeld was stating with pride for every single participant. In the end, being the first or the last doesn’t matter when you have such an enthusiastic and powerful team on your side.

“After the Triathlon is just before the next one”, said LTC Neufeld who made the third place in his age class. But now it is the phase of recovery, which is as important as preparation. And the champion is already preparing for the next challenge: Major Vasilevicius is going for the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice (France) in September. The team as well as the Corps wishes best results and good luck!
