Emmanuel Macron visited NATO eFP Battlegroup Lithuania

RUKLA, Lithuania - On Sept. 29, Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic of France, visited French soldiers serving as part of NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Lithuania.

In his address to the French troops, the President thanked them for their commitment to the mission. Meeting with the soldiers was part of Mr. Macron´'s official visit to Lithuania, hosted by the President, Gitanas Nausėda. The Commander of the Battlegroup, LTC Peer Papenbroock, and the Commander of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf", COL Mindaugas Petkevičius, along with Lithuanian service members were amongts participants of the occassion. The Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, and the Minister of the French Armed Forces, Florence Parly, accompanied Mr. Macron during his visit. The Lithuanian Minister of National Defence, Raimundas Karoblis, also attended the event.
