I'm Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart, and I'm honored to have joined our great Multinational Corps Northeast, our team and family.
For millions of people around the world, Christmas is a time to rejoice and reflect, to sit back with our beloved ones and friends.
I'm immensely proud of our soldiers, especially those deployed on operations in the Baltic region, and of their great families whose sacrifice and service is most sincerely appreciated. Without you, we couldn't serve so good.
For almost 8,000 troops of Multinational Corps Northeast, Christmas will be similar to any other day. Keeping guard across NATO's eastern flank, our great men and women amplify the values which NATO is built upon. Our collective effort allows our sovereign nations—our people—prosper in peace.
So wherever in the region you are this Christmas, and whatever you're doing at the moment—thank you so much!
I wish you and your beloved ones a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to meeting you early next year to continue our great mission.
