SZCZECIN, Poland - On December 6, Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta conducted his first official visit to Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) to discuss a variety of topics related to the peace and security of the Baltic Sea region, which constitutes the MNC NE Area of Operations. 

"Multinational Corps Northeast plays an important role in NATO’s efforts to Deter and Defend in the Baltic region," General Miglietta said during the visit. As MNC NE is subordinate to the Brunssum-based joint force command, the JFCBS Commander met with Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart, the MNC NE Commanding General, and received multiple briefings from the Corps'senior military leaders on the MNC NE structure and capabilities. The staffs held in-depth discussions on the security situation in the Baltic Sea region and the threats currently facing the Allies, especially with regard to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.

"I have great faith in the structures we have built and the cooperative plans we have in place to overcome those challenges," Miglietta stated. 

I am greatly impressed by your readiness to take on the huge task of coordinating NATO’s crisis response in this region of Europe.

At the end of the visit, both Commanders emphasized NATO's ironclad commitment to collective defence of all its members. "We can, we want to, and we will defend every inch of NATO's territory," summarised von Sandrart.
