Tactical Command Post: Commander MNC NE leads from the front

SZCZECIN, Poland — LTG Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart, Commander Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE), visited 610 Signal Battalion in Prenzlau, Germany to discuss their current status, readiness, and potential advancements of the Tactical Command Post (TACCP).

The German 610th Signal Battalion is part of the Command Support Brigade (CSB)—the formation headquartered in Stargard, Poland and assigned to MNC NE. The Brigade's task and mission is to provide deployable command posts, and command and information systems equipment for MNC NE within the Corps' Area of Operations at short notice. Command posts come in various sizes, from small to large, and can be tailored to the mission, always with the aim of being as efficient as possible while minimising electronic signatures.

During a short visit to Prenzlau, LTG  von Sandrart received an overview on the extent to which the existing TACCP needs to be adapted to the current situation. Along with his multinational Command Group and Deputy Chiefs of Staff Operations, Plans and Support, he met with the Commander of the 610 Signal Battalion, LTC Andreas Rapp to discuss possible adjustments and timelines. Upon the completion of the tour and detailed explanations of the functioning and special features of the TACCP, the General expressed his satisfaction and put forward own ideas, especially those concerning deployability and mobility, which will be incorporated into the Corps' and the Brigade's further development plans in accordance with the MNC NE motto: Ready Today—Prepared for Tomorrow—Adapting for the Future.
