The conference offered a comprehensive overview on the most relevant developments across the Baltic Sea region, especially considering Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine. It saw numerous officials representing the Corps' framework nations, NATO entities and Allies, and MNC NE's subordinate units stationed in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. Since its inception, the forum has assisted various staffs and stakeholders to enhance their coordination and mutual understanding of military and non-military aspects of the operational environment that is NATO's northeastern flank.
In his opening, the Corps' Commander emphazised the central role of military planning for an executable defence posture. Based on real-time situational awareness, the conference provided an ample opportunity to better align deterrence and defence efforts throughout the MNC NE area of operations. Additionally, von Sandrart highlighted the sound principle of bottom-up approach in identifying vulnerabilities and building resilience.
Looking ahead, the Commander indicated how important it was to adapt across the entire range of organization in order to maintain high readiness, responsiveness and persuasive military capabilities in an exceedingly complex environment.
