NATO’s land forces commanders gather at Baltic Barracks for LANDCOM conference

SZCZECIN, Poland – NATO’s Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) held its 24th biannual conference of Allied land force commanders at Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) in Szczecin, May 13-15. The meeting provided a forum for discussion and dialogue regarding the most current and pressing topics across the land domain.

The conference brought together Senior Leaders from the NATO Force and Command Structures in order to develop a common visualisation of the role of land forces in NATO and discuss challenges currently facing the Alliance. "The potency of cooperation is undeniable," said General Darryl Williams, Commander LANDCOM. As emphasised by Williams, the Baltic Sea region is critical for NATO's collective security.

The three-day event allowed leadership from across the NATO land forces to build coherency, capability and capacity through briefings and discussion. "Let's seize this opportunity and emerge stronger," Commander LANDCOM stated.

In his remarks, Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart, Commander MNC NE, highlighted the importance of integrated approach to the delivery of defence-related capabilities. "We can only do it together," von Sandrart said. As a vital element of NATO's strengthened deterrence and defence posture, unified military efforts across the land domain exemplify the Alliance's commitment to safeguarding stability and security in the Baltic Sea region.
