MNC NE's Command Support Brigade celebrates 15th anniversary

SZCZECIN, Poland - On 1 July, the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) Command Support Brigade (CSB) marked its 15th anniversary. During the ceremony attended by Deputy Commander MNC NE, the Brigade's personnel and invited guests celebrated the unit's development and achievements, which allow for the effective functioning of MNC NE.

The Command Support Brigade has been operational since 2007. Today, it provides the MNC NE Commander with the ability to command and control land forces deployed across NATO's eastern flank, covering areas such as communications, logistics and force protection. The extent of support that the Brigade offers has evolved over the years. The breakthrough came in 2017 when MNC NE—and, consequently, the Brigade—became high-readiness forces. Being included in this category has significantly increased the requirements for staffing, preparedness and equipment in order for CSB to be able to take immediate action should the need arise.

Emphasizing the CSB personnel's dedication and professionalism, Colonel Mirosław Postołowicz, the Brigade Commander, said:

The Brigade owes its success to a great many generations of former and current soldiers and civilian employees.

At the ceremony, in attendance was Major General Ulrich Hellebjerg, the MNC NE Deputy Commander, who spoke highly of the Brigade's ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances, with particular regard to the Russian invasion of Ukraine: "Again, you did what was expected from you. You responded quickly to support MNC NE and its Host Nations, e.g. by deploying the Brigade's elements and supporting the Corps Commander's Terrain Walk."

CSB stands ready shoulder to shoulder with MNC NE to deter any action against the Alliance, MG Hellebjerg concluded.
Headquartered in Stargard, Poland, the Corps' Command Support Brigade is composed of four battalions and complemented by the Polish National Support Unit. While the latter element performs its daily duties at the MNC NE Headquarters in Szczecin, Poland, the battalions are stationed both in Poland (Wałcz and Bielkowo) and in Germany (Prenzlau). This makes the Command Support Brigade the only organization within the Polish Armed Forces that combines the skills and military knowledge of the two neighbouring nations. The Brigade facilitates everything from communication and information systems through logistics, transportation, messing management and medical support to building up a wholly equipped and connected Main and Tactical Command Posts.
